The SDM differential version uses a combination of our precision adjusters to provide 0.020" / 500 microns of fine adjustment, with a precision of 20 microns per turn. The tip of the adjustment screw has been machined to accept a hard ball bearing (64 Rockwell) that can rotate at the end of the screw. This feature minimizes the amount of rotational torque transferred from the adjustment screw to the translation stage.
